A few of my favorite “Chique” things

Happy Saturday. What a week! I am sitting here trying to sneak in ten minutes to write a post before the madness, called our day, begins.  Parker had his first Jr. Lifeguard competition yesterday, so we spent the entire day at the beach, but it was well worth it because he kept his “Beach Flag” title. He won the entire event in his age group for the second year in a row, our reigning champion! Read about it here. As if we weren’t exhausted enough after spending 7 hours in the sun, we then proceeded to PJ’s Taekwondo demonstration rehearsal for the rest of the evening.

Today is the Grand Opening of the Pure Woori dojang, so Matt & Master Asad have been working day & night to finish the dojang before the party. Instead of a “ribbon cutting”, they are performing a final “breaking” sequence to welcome everyone to the studio. PJ is the student honored to perform that stunt! More on that later. So needless to say, there is a lot of adrenaline running through the Nolan veins right now!

So, in between trips to the The Aragon Vintage Bazaar, days at the beach, hosting friends for dinner, late night BBQ’s, Pilates clients, Hot Yoga, and a few Alt Channel classes in between, I wanted to share with you some of my favorite “Chique” things that I have collected along the way!

Thanks to my dear friend Jayne for bringing the boys the coolest crinkle map to accompany them to London for the Olympics.

This is the piece of driftwood PJ & I discovered on our beach walk the other day. I can’t wait to find the perfect spot to display it!

And lastly, my search has ended for the perfect gold vintage link bracelet, thanks to the Vintage Bazaar.

So, that’s it for now, off to revel in the craziness called life. What have you been up to lately?

  1. I so enjoy your postings, great stories and updates you share. Your photos are full of life and make the reader wish they were along for the adventure. (Someyimes this reader is.) Keep up the blogging. Til next time! /D

  2. Hi Erika,
Our “rain dance” finally worked. It started raining yesterday, and looks like it will keep it up every day for the next week. We went to an art fair yesterday, and this morning, I dug up a huge mock rosebush to give to the neighbor. Miriam then planted a mock rose the color that she wanted up front. Sorry to hear about Parker’s back. I hope he is without pain soon. I don’t get an opportunity to email PJ directly, so please pass on to him how proud we are of him with his Tae Kwon Do. What an honor to be chosen to be the one to do the breaking ceremony for the new Dojang! Take care, and maybe we’ll see you soon?!?!?!?
    Love, Uncle Frank

  3. Thanks for the kind comments, D! And UF, Parker is fine, was just a little sore, but he did so well. Video is on YouTube if you have a chance to see it! We are trying to load PJ’s from last night now! xo
