Cheers to “Chique” Memorial Day

As with every holiday, I make a concerted effort to teach the boys the real reason for celebrating. Most of us love Memorial Day as it signals the beginning of summer; kicking off the season of barbeques, trips to the beach, wearing white and much, much more.

Today in the city it is cold and cloudy, so we are not eating ice cream at the lake front. Instead, we are escaping the obligations of a regular Monday and reflecting on why this day is so important. As we sit here relaxing, we are flying our flag high in spirit. We are remembering all the fallen soldiers who have risked their lives for our country, in turn giving us our freedom. How are you celebrating?
