“Chique” Artisan Bags

In case you don’t know, I adore fringe. Fringe bags, fringe tees, shoes with a hint of fringe, fringe kimonos, fringe bikinis. You name it, if there is fringe on it, most likely it is swoon worthy in my book. So, it should come to no surprise that when I saw this leather tapestry bag with gorgeous fringe details, I was sold. Except, wait, it gets even better.

Nena & Co , a generous and socially responsible company was hosting a contest on Instagram. I rarely enter giveaways, but when I do, it is always for blog worthy product that I would truly love to own. Otherwise it seems a bit selfish to win something that doesn’t make my heart skip a beat. And of course, there is always the disappointment that comes along with not winning.

Well, this time, it was my lucky day when I opened up my IG feed to discover that I was in fact the winner of a stunning leather fringe cross body tote.

Then to be given the chance to hand pick the bag I wanted to add to my collection. How am I to decide? There were so many choices and all of the Nena & Co bags are one-of-a-kind & hand made in the Highlands of Guatemala. Truly a piece of art. And even better in person, really!

I love that Alejandro, the creator and designer behind the brand is working with each artisan. Her company gives back to the impoverished families, whether it is with filtered water or a higher than average minimum wage. As consumers we have so many choices, so why not support a brand that enables us to make a difference in someone’s life? Seems like a no brainer.
