“Chique” Brits: London Fashion Week

As some of you know, from my previous post, one of my favorite trends at NYFW was the presence of feathers and fur, which was also shown on the runways in London at McQ by Alexander McQueen and Mulberry. The leather and fur belted trench at McQueen was hot, especially with the tall lace up boots, but I must say, the hair hat buns were very distracting.  Does anyone else agree? On the other hand, the Mulberry collection was beyond fabulous; full of burnt orange and brown, layers, lush fabrics, prints and lots of fur. Did you happen to see the matching fur dog coat on the model below? Love it!

But, ultimately, the designer who took my breath away was Burberry Prorsum. While the collection was heavily clad with classic menswear fabrics, the clothes were ultra femme “Chique”, adorned with bows, ruffles, peplums, pockets and defined waist lines. I loved each look better than the next, but I managed to pick a few of my favorites below.

What designer was top of your list in London? Would love to hear your thoughts.
Until next time, find your style.
