“Chique” Celebration: What I Wore

As some of you know from my Friday post, we kicked off the weekend attending our school fundraiser, the “Every Child A Star” Dream Gala. As suggested by my girlfriend, it was the ideal evening to bring out the sparkle. So, I did just that, I pulled out my beloved nude lace beaded pants that I bought 10 years ago at a fabulous boutique in Palm Beach, Florida. Even back then, I didn’t usually splurge on my clothes, but these were different. The minute I tried them on, I had to have them. We justified the extravagant purchase as it was for a very special occasion, the 2002 Academy Awards. Needless to say, I should wear them more often, because the compliments were flowing. Despite the hundreds  of auction items,  my pants were the most talked about. I was genuinely overwhelmed by the attention a single pair of pants could receive. I wore them with one of my favorite black tops, a vintage Maria Pinto feather pin and my brown braided Gucci sandals. The perfect complement to a perfectly “Chique” celebration!
