“Chique” Father’s Day DIY
The boys and I have been feeling pretty crafty lately, so on top of the usual Father’s Day breakfast in bed and card routine, we decided to make matching Daddy & Son bracelets. I wanted to make sure the wrist candy was “manly” enough for my three studs, so we did a little research on line to find this one on Honestly…WTF, one of my favorite DIY blogs. The cool hex nut clasp sealed the deal.
So, off we went to Michaels to find some cool mixed metal chains, leather and waxed cord. We ended up buying suede instead of leather, which made the bracelet more flexible, but it still looked cool. It was a bit difficult for little fingers, so I did most of the wrapping, but they helped measure and picked out the bracelet combinations. They all ended up being black suede with different metallic beads.
Of course, we weren’t aiming for absolute perfection, so you can see from the photos they are made with love. A little haphazard, which makes them unique and oh so, very “Chique”.
They were such a big hit we made one for my Dad too, so now we have three generations wearing our custom DIY Suede Beaded Bracelets. A picture of all the boys sporting their new studly wristlets to follow, promise!
In fact, I think I will have to make one for myself too. The color combinations are endless. Are you into the layered bracelet trend? This is an easy way to add a little pop to your arm party!
