“Chique” Looks: Paris Fashion Week

Right now there is so much conversation on the Blogosphere about all things French; from the book “Bringing Up Bebe” to the recent rumors surrounding the fate of The House of Dior. I know after visiting Paris for the first time nearly 20 years ago, I too am obsessed with all things Parisian. French woman are effortlessly elegant, as they could be wearing the simplest ensemble, but still look impossibly “Chique”.

In celebration of Paris fashion week, here are a few of my favorites so far.  I adore the ballet inspired looks from Christian Dior, feminine and “Chique”. There were countless pieces in the show that would translate straight from the runway to reality, including  these cropped cigarette pants! Paired with the pastel peplum jacket the look is pure sophistication.

As some of you know from my previous post, I love feathers and fur.  Of course, unless it is vintage, I will not purchase an authentic fur, but I can still dream about this timeless fur coat over the slip dress by Nina Ricci.

Lastly, you have to appreciate a runway show that is over the top like Ann Demeulemeester’s, as it is designed to provoke an unforgettable image. But, once you peel away the extreme feather spiked hair and knee-high leather, you uncover a collection of  gorgeously constructed pieces.  My favorite was this black asymmetrical peplum coat. I can imagine it with jeans and lace up boots, a perfect Fall outfit!

What shows inspired you the most?  Would love to hear your thoughts. Until next time, find your style and stay “Chique”.
