“Chique” Recipe: Green Smoothie

Feeling blue? Need a natural energy boost? Rethink your drink and give your body what it is craving with a fresh Green Smoothie. Who needs a Vitamix or a Breville juicer when you can whip up this gorgeous green smoothie packed with vitamins and overflowing with antioxidant-rich nutrients at home in your blender? All you need is ice, fresh lime juice, a green apple, a ripe avocado, spinach and water. Garnish with a lime and indulge. This juice is even tasty enough for my 6 year old who gulped this delicious drink straight down with a smile! And the color is to die for; now that is “Chique”.

Green Smoothie Recipe

1 green apple, cored and sliced
1 ripe avocado, pitted and sliced
2 cups frozen or fresh spinach
1 lime, juiced
1 tsp agave nectar
1-2 cups ice depending on your preference
1 cup water or apple juice

Place apple, avocado, spinach, lime juice and agave nectar in blender. Place in a pitcher if you want to use an immersion blender. Add ice, water or apple juice last. Mix on medium until well blended. You can vary the amounts of ice and liquid  in order to create the consistency you prefer. I like more ice and less water. Garnish with a lime slice and enjoy!
