Remembering….
As today marks 11 years since that tragic day in September, we pause to reflect. I can remember that morning like it was just yesterday. The skies were crystal clear with a cool crisp breeze blowing; the perfect fall day.
Then in moments our freedom and our sense of security collapsed along with the towers, leaving an empty feeling that lingered for months afterwards. We have moved forward and certainly time does heal, but for the victims families I can’t imagine the anniversary will ever pass without tears.
I pray my children will never experience such tragedy, yet there are no guarantees, so I have to just prepare them for the battles they may have to fight. Today, I will hug them a little longer, kiss them a little more and remain grateful for our blessings. I hope as a country we have learned something.
God Bless America.
