Scenes from the our “unChique” City

I don’t normally blog about the weather. A little too “cliche”, but us Chicagoans are experiencing a winter like never before, so I feel like it deserves a mention. Between the Polar Vortex and the Siberian type deep freeze of late, I am starting to question why we live here. I know jealousy is a wasted emotion, but when I see all my California friends sporting cut-offs and sandals, while we are barely showing skin in fear of frost bite, it makes me wonder.

Today it is so damn cold Lake Michigan is steaming. Yes, the air is colder than the frigid water, so it is producing a vapor. Crazy, right? Unbearable my friends. The only good news is that the sun is shining. Seeing a ray of light will save me, at least for today.

Note to self, my fashionable fingerless gloves are not really appropriate for these below zero temps. I was literally out there for a mere second and I felt like my fingers were going to fall off. Just enough time to take a few shots. Mind you, these pictures really don’t do it justice.

When is the first day of Spring? It can’t come soon enough. Keep warm & stay “Chique” my friends.
